State-of-the-Art Imaging for Unmet Demands

After waiting 10-15 working days for an appointment, residents living in Gisborne, New Zealand, may drive 5 hours to the nearest PET/CT clinic 380km away. All these factors impede access to timely imaging diagnosis, therefore delaying early detection, intervention, and treatment of tumors and other major diseases.

In 2022, Mercy Radiology, one of the primary private medical imaging service providers in New Zealand, introduced a digital PET/CT created by United Imaging, which is now the country's most advanced one, to the local community.

The new equipment, with a 30cm-long axis FOV, has shortened the acquisition time of PET images from 25 minutes to 15 minutes, significantly improving the scanning efficiency and the quality of images while optimizing patients' experience in clinical appointments. Driven by the shared commitment to making more progress in precision medicine, Mercy Radiology collaborates with us on scientific research of AI algorithms and PSMA-PET imaging aiming to make more progress in the precise diagnosis, and treatment of tumors, heart diseases, and neurological conditions, as well as the development of new tracers.
