Building a World-class Cancer Center

Building a World-class Cancer Center

"Giving cancer patients access to the best medical services that are nearby is not only our goal, but also our responsibility. We are pleased to see that the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center has laid a solid foundation to become a world-class cancer center thanks to a concerted effort led by members of the industry and universities in recent years. To date, we have established state-of-the-art clinical research facilities, gathered world-class talent in tumor prevention and treatment, and achieved clinical research results that have been widely recognized around the world. In order to build a world-class cancer center and solve thorny cancer problems that impact the world, we are now vigorously exploring an all-new idea and form of practice, namely the establishment of an integrated cancer diagnosis and treatment ecosystem."

——Xu Ruihua, Director, Dean and Director of the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center

Precision Diagnosis

High-performance imaging equipment can provide clinic doctors with various precision imaging diagnosis results, including the identification of benign and malignant tumors as well as the staging and grading of tumors. This will ensure a more accurate and professional imaging basis for doctors to formulate patients' surgical or treatment plans. In addition, high-performance imaging equipment in deep combination with AI technology can aid doctors in better interpreting image data and exploring more innovative application scenarios.

Precise Immunotherapy

uEXPLORER, PET/MR and other high-end imaging equipment can help clinical doctors to interpret diseases at functional, metabolic and molecular levels, while also assisting them in conducting exploratory research from accurate screening to precision evaluation, with the whole body as the target. Such equipment enables clinical doctors to use radionuclide to label targeted drugs and carry out HD imaging and quantitative analysis. At the same time, it enables doctors to conduct a whole-process, whole-body visual evaluation of the treatment effects of patients with neuroendocrine tumors, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and breast cancer.

Intelligent Radiotherapy
2.0 Era

By thoroughly integrating the diagnostic HD CT image system with an intelligent chemoradiotherapy system, CT-linac can comprehensively empower the whole radiotherapy process from positioning, sketching and planning to treatment and quality control. It can also achieve all-new clinical scenarios in the areas of online adaptive radiotherapy and All-In-One radiotherapy, thus ushering in a new era of radiotherapy 2.0 characterized by more accurate treatment, more intelligent process and making greater care possible for patients.
